It is no secret that Christianity has been under attack for some time in our society in general. There are many people and forces that challenge the faith and the practice thereof.At the same time, many Christians feel very insecure about many of the questions raised about their faith. They do not feel qualified to answer many times, and therefore they get very apprehensive when the questions get raised.A recent Barna survey of people professing Christianity was established seeking to know what the questions were that they had difficulties answering. Mark Mittelberg has taken the results of this survey, with the top ten questions, and sets forth to provide answers and strategies for answers in The Questions Christians Hope No One Will Ask.This is a novel strategy. Most of the questions addressed-- matters of the reliability of the Bible, the relationship between science and faith, whether Jesus is truly God the Son, the problem of evil and suffering, abortion, homosexuality, judgmentalism and Christian arrogance, and the afterlife-- are discussed in most apologetic and evangelism books. Most of the time the issues are addressed on their own basis, but Mittelberg approaches it as if a believer is fielding questions for an unbeliever.This approach is beneficial, for it provides opportunity to discuss not just the issue but also what is behind the issue. Mittelberg often discusses ways to approach the various issues with people. The last chapter is also appreciated: after providing answers to the questions, Mittelberg shows how the questioned can become the questioner, and prod the one asking the question to examine their own belief system in light of the truth of God in Christ and in Scripture. It also gives the author opportunity to be more personal: one can feel the passion in his answer about abortion (for better or worse), and his attempts toward compassion and understanding when discussing homosexuality, and so on and so forth.The answers tend to be rather good. Sometimes they get a bit simplistic, but such is understandable, considering that the author is trying to speak more to the "average" person. Using the story of the Samaritan woman at the well in John 4 as a paradigm for discussing homosexuality was quite good; I wish that he had used Scriptural narratives more as the basis of discussing other matters. Evangelical doctrines are not front and center, which is nice. Minor disagreements can be found in various places, but such is natural. One personal disagreement involves the suggestion that the questioner be directed toward the New Living Translation. Such a suggestion is a bit corporate (the NLT is published by Tyndale, the publisher of this book), and also misguided, for it will be harder to explain to a prospective believer why they are holding a Bible from which they cannot really make inferences because of the way that it has been translated while attempting to affirm the legitimacy and inspiration of Scripture. Better to recommend the English Standard Version (ESV), a more understandable formal equivalent translation, than a dynamic equivalent translation.Nevertheless, The Questions Christians Hope No One Will Ask is a good resource. Believers will find comfort, encouragement, and answers in it. Even those with experience in apologetics and evangelism may gain from many of the suggestions and arguments presented. Any Christian looking to solidify their witness for Christ should read this book. The questions selected here (listed in the amazon description for reference) are very common inquiries of non-believers and questions that all Christians should stand ready to answer. Mittelberg does a great job in responding to each with understanding about why people ask such a question, compassion for their point of view, and solid reasoning. I very much appreciated his response to the question of suffering. He recognizes that many people when they ask this question aren't actually looking for a response at that time, but are looking for compassion and sensitivity. He then proceeds to give a strong answer, but encourages us to respond to our friends not at the moments they are hurting, but to be a comfort to them first. Mittelberg's treatment of the issue of abortion and homosexuality is very powerful here and well thought out for both. Particularly in his discussion of abortion, the author's illustrations are superb, illuminating the issue without going to extreme rhetoric that so easily dominates much of our national dialogue surrounding this discussion. I would strongly recommend this book for those chapters alone, but Mittelberg goes further, deftly addressing the existence of God, evolution, the reality of heaven and hell, and the problem of hypocrites. Each chapter is concluded with a summary of the answer the author has given, tips for talking with non-believers about the issue in a very practical way, and good questions for group settings. I believe this book would is perfect for a small group study. The material in this book will take the reader far from being afraid someone will question them to eager they have a chance to respond in service of Christ. Mittelberg has penned one of the most practical apologetics books I've ever read and I will keep its contents in mind for opportunities to address these issues. This should be on every Christians' bookshelf. Highly recommended.

About the Author
Daniel Limmer (Author). Dan Limmer, EMT-P, has been involved in EMS for over 25 years. He remains active as a paramedic with Kennebunk Fire Rescue in Kennebunk, Maine, and the Kennebunkport EMS (KEMS) in Kennebunkport, Maine. A passionate educator, Dan teaches EMT and paramedic courses at the Southern Maine Community College in South Portland, Maine, and has taught at the George Washington University in Washington, DC and the Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, New York. He is a charter member of the National Association of EMS Educators and a member of the National Association of EMTs (NAEMT) for which he serves on the Advanced Medical Life Support Committee. Dan was formerly involved in law enforcement, beginning as a dispatcher and retiring as a police officer in Colonie, New York, where he received three command recognition awards as well as the distinguished service award (Officer of the Year) in 1987. During his 20-year law enforcement career he served in the communications, patrol, juvenile, narcotics, and training units. In addition to authoring several EMS journal articles, Dan is co-author of a number of EMS textbooks for Brady including First Responder: A Skills Approach, Essentials of Emergency Care, Advanced Medical Life Support, the military and fire service editions of Emergency Care, and others. He speaks frequently at regional, state, and national EMS conferences. Michael F. O'Keefe (Author). Mike O'Keefe, MS, EMT-P, became the Vermont EMS State Training Coordinator in 1989. He has a Master's degree in biostatistics and was an EMT-Intermediate for 16 years before becoming a paramedic 10 years ago. Mike was chosen to participate in the development of all four U.S. Department of Tranpsortation National Standard EMS Curricula (for First Responders, EMT-Basics, EMT-Intermediates, and EMT-Paramedics). He was also on the steering committee that developed the Geriatric Education for Emergency Medical Services (GEMS) course for the American Geriatrics Society and coauthored a chapter of the textbook for that course. Mike is co-author of the Brady text Essentials of Emergency Care and is a contributing writer to the Brady text Paramedic Care: Principles & Practice. He is very interested in promoting EMS research, particularly in rural areas. Mike is active as a volunteer EMS provider in northwestern Vermont and is a speaker at EMS conferences. Edward T. Dickinson (Medical Editor). Edward T. Dickinson, MD, NREMT-P, FACEP, is currently Assistant Professor and Director of EMS Field Operations in the Department of Emergency Medicine of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in Philadelphia. He is Medical Director of the Malvern Fire Company, the Berwyn Fire Company, and the Township of Haverford paramedics in Pennsylvania. He is a residency-trained, board-certified emergency medicine physician who is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians. Dr. Dickinson began his career in emergency services in 1979 as a firefighter-EMT in upstate New York. He has remained active in fire service and EMS for the past 25 years. The book is busted ! The book is marked all in, also has a huge coffee stain on the first 150 pages. The book didn't come with the My Brady lab Pearson access code like it was supposed too. The content is exactly what I wanted, but everything else has failed drastically to meet my expectations and I set the bar pretty low.
I have always been a fan of Pearson/Brady textbooks because of their ease of reading. My major disappointment is that you have to have a course ID from instructor to access the online eText and the online material that will help you study. There is no option for "self study" so do not waste your time purchasing this unless you can convince your instructor to set up a course ID. Also customer service will not transfer the access code it is a package deal. I wish I knew this ahead of time.
I bought this workbook along with the Emergency Care Textbook. This workbook in an invaluable tool in the development of an EMT's skills. I am currently in an EMT Academy and have been using this book non stop to perfect my skills and continue my education. The information is the current AHA requirement for EMT students and is easily understood and easy to use. This workbook was also the cheapest I found anywere and recommend anyone looking for the Workbook and Textbook for an EMT school to buy them here. Its the complete package for everything you need to succeed. I rate it at FIVE STARS and I will continue to use this book everyday.

The definitive text for prehospital care. Good pictures and scenarios. Strait forward and easy to understand.This version came with MyBradyLab. MyBradyLab is an excellent resource and I strongly recommend it.
My major bone is that many of the images of females in this book are not in an anatomical position, whereas the male counterparts are... I find this a grave oversight and an indicator of how truly engrained sexism is in American culture. Head turned to side, hands on hips... it’s disgraceful. That said, the content is superior and the additional Pearson resources are preparing me well for an EMS future.
