Since I am 77 years old the first half of the book on Acne and other skin issues did not interest me much but the second half was well worth the price of the book. It was a comprehensive and detailed explanation on anti-aging skincare. I learn a lot and have taken many of the doctors recommendations. I hardly have any wrinkles and with her help I will keep it that way for as long as I can.
Thought this book would share more ways for great skin. It is filled with a lot of nonsense
Learning a lot about proper skin care - wish I knew all this when I was a teenager. Now, recommending this read for my teen grandchildren who have inherited my pimple susceptible skin. Valuable information for caring for aging skin too.

Kim AblonWhitney does not disappoint with THE PERFECT DISTANCE. Francie is a believable protagonist, u nique and bicultural, yet a teal teenaged girl. The glimpse into the world of junior equitation championships is true to life and accurate in its equestrian details. I look forward to more of her work.
I first read this book years ago and LOVED it. It was beautifully written, with a protagonist who you both rooted for and also sort of prayed she would come to conclusion that she does indeed do at the end. I reread it a few times a year, and it lives permanently on my bedside table. Since discovering KAB, I have loved every book she has written, including "Blue Ribbons" and the Show Circuit series. So when I learned that this book had been revised and reissued, I decided to read this version as well. I understand tying in new technology (the kids text now, instead of using the hotel phones), updating some of the information like Tara's backstory, and moving the Maclay Finals to Kentucky where they are currently hosted was a fine change (although the original book has it take place at Madison Square Garden, which was just so cool to read about.)The change I don't love is at the end. There is a big plot twist during the final work off and in the new version, is feels tame and watered down. The original book is just poignant, and helps drive home WHY Francie decides to go to college after all. So, I highly recommend finding a 2005 version of this book. It is really quite perfect. The new version is fine, but lacks that sharp twist that makes Francie's decisions so much more believable.
There’s a dearth of good horse books (for kids and grownups) so when I find one this well-written, I am overjoyed. Kim Ablon Whitney’s “The Perfect Distance†is a gem, not only because it’s a rollicking good story, but because the horse details are spot on.So are the teenage characters as they deal with self-doubt, parental expectations, peer pressure, discrimination, and the trainer from hell. Well, not quite. Rob could’ve been worse, but he certainly gets up the kids’ noses and makes Francie Martinez feel like she’s never good enough for him, especially when compared to Tara, the barn’s star rider.But Francie’s father, Juan, is a wise man. He supports his daughter, quietly, while demonstrating a solid work ethic (he’s the barn’s manager), instilling a sense of responsibility in Francie, and setting realistic boundaries so she won’t make the same mistakes that he did.Francie’s a talented rider. She wants to ditch college and turn pro after the all-important Medal/Maclay finals they’re all working toward. But Francie hasn’t yet learned to believe in herself. It takes the friendship of an enigmatic boy who rides “just because it’s fun†and the unfortunate death of a horse to help Francie realize her own strengths and come to terms with her goals.In a month or two, I will read this book again . . . I enjoyed it so much.
This is an excellent book for both avid riders and avid readers. The characters are wonderful, coming to life and managing to avoid the show circuit stereotypes that other books about showing fall prey to. The author paints each character vividly and believably, in a manner that truly reveals the human beings behind the stereotypes on the A Circuit. Francie's journey to self actualization is well done and interesting, and I love her little quirks. While I didn't enjoy this quite as much as Kim's latest release, The Circuit, I really appreciated the depths of the characters. The plot was well developed, avoiding the horse book cliches (Horse Whisperer, Backyard Rider On a $10 Horse Winning Big, Little Rich Girl Relives "Gossip Girls" On Horseback, etc). This wasn't just a good horse book, it was a very well written book in general that I would have enjoyed reading even if I wasn't horse crazy. Definitely recommend!
I read this in one day, while home sick from work. Thus, it was an easy read, but that doesn't detract from its charm. A coming-of-age story that is not to saccharine or sappy, it's actually told from the perspective of a believable and likable character. I'm sure some readers may have some trouble relating to Francie's goody-two-shoes-ness. But I WAS Francie in high school, focused on grades, horse shows, and other activities outside of school. I struggled to find my place in the microcosm of teenage high school pursuits, and always felt out of place when I tried to assimilate. I think this book addressed that issue well, and will be an enjoyable read for anyone who has ever felt like an outsider. Especially if horseback riding and competition put you on the outside to begin with.That said, her obsession with the cheated test felt tiresome after a while. I want to holler, " yes, you cheated! Move ON." I didn't mind that she felt guilty. I would have too. I did mind that the author kept coming back to it again and again.I would recommend to all those who enjoy horsey-books who are looking for an easy read and a fairly accurate portrayal of one facet of the horse world.
For the most part I enjoyed the story. Even though I'm older than the target audience I didn't feel like it was too easy of a read. I liked that it was a coming -of -age story with the main character facing tough choices. What I didn't like was what Francie's trainer did and got away with and that Francie's dad acted like it was acceptable.A couple more things that really annoyed me was that the story would be going along then suddenly it was the next day and there was no page break or other indication that was going to happen. Also, they kept saying the trainer would never hire an undocumented worker and one of the grooms turned out to be illegal and had to be whisked away when INS showed up but later on the groom was still working and there was no explanation about how he'd been able to stay.

I originally bought the 'Flashkids' Three Letter Word set which my grandson enjoys. I bought the Schoolzone set as an extra set for him to have at home. It was a dollar cheaper and I figured there couldn't be a lot of difference between the two sets. They are different in important ways - to me - and since I've had the benefit of seeing the two sets side by side, this is what I will say.The Flashkids set:* The quality of the card is really good. The cards are heavy and glossy on both side like good playing cards* There are 28 words in the set which is a good number for young children* The illustrations are nicer - this is subjective, of course* One side has a picture of the object, e.g. pen, with small letters - p e n underneath printed in black. The reverse sides are bright, solid colours - one colour per word - with the letters printed in the center , identical to the front letters but larger and printed in white. They're very clear. The child can learn by seeing the object with the letters underneath and then move on to seeing only the letters on the reverse side and learn the word without the picture prompt.The Schoolzone set:* The quality feels cheap like simple card stock - okay the set is cheap, but so is the Flashkids set.* There are 17 words on the front sides, and obviously an equal number of different words on the reverse sides.* The illustrations on the main side are colourful nouns and the letters are clear* The reverse side has another illustration in a couple of shades of blue on white, and it's not glossy - it's an adjective which relates to the front side e.g. the front of one set of cards spells 'hen', and the reverse side has what's supposed to be an overweight chicken, and the word below is 'fat'. I use the cards with a three year old and think that having the same word on the front and back is better reinforcement to learn that particular word. Perhaps these are better for an older child who is learning the difference between nouns and adjectives.* There is no option for the child to learn the word without the picture promptOverall, I was very pleased with the quality and attractiveness of the Flashkids set and the choice of words to be learned, and disappointed with the Schoolzone set. If I'd got the Schoolzone set first, I think I would still have been disappointed with it because they feel cheap (I know, they are cheap), and some of the adjectives/pronouns don't feel intuitive in any way, e.g. tin dog - what kid these days has ever seen a tin dog? I've never seen a tin dog. For my purpose, I was not interested in adjectives because my grandboy is only three, and my recommendation, if your objective is just to work on some basic words, is to get the Flashkids cards.
I tutor poor first grade readers. Two of my boys did not know any words at all and sometimes could not identify all the alphabet if it was out of order. These flash cards were a breakthrough. OMG, now they cannot get enough and are excited to come to their tutoring session. YAY, they LOVE discovering the words. Thank you.
I just got this card pack yesterday and our 2 yr old loves it. I can, even after a day of use, see her making a little connection with the pictures and letters. She already asks for them. Do not leave these out, your child may bend them. I suggest encouraging your child to name the letters and sound out the words. Very impressed with them and will re-review them again to determine their impact.Research: I had considered numbers but I felt reading would have a greater effect since when we read at night, we can then start understanding words and this is far more effective in my mind for communication. Don't worry, I'll encourage math too - anything that makes her nerdy is alright by me. Archaeology? Geology? Those are next coming- as well as inch think glasses...

I love these flashcards. I used them with the kids I work with. Im a behavior therapist working with children dealing with autism, and it has helped a young high-functioning girl improve her reading astoundedly. Even a young 3 year old is now recognizing letters and words that she wasn't able to do just two weeks before working with these cards everyday. They are fun and easy for either the young learner or the growing learner. It includes easy picture words such as: Dog, Cat, Hat, and other complex words such as: pie, ape, cub, and pie.
I love it...very easy & effective great way to teach your little one. This is my opinion. I thought it'd be useful to get my nephews opinion too, he's 5yrs.Nephew Esak opinion: it helps me learn, it's easy, it's fun. He would recommend it to other little kids. 🤣
These are good for helping your child learn their 3 letter words with a 3 piece puzzle that they put together that shows the picture as well!
I love these cards they are a little advanced for my grand daughter at this time but by next year she will able to understand the purpose of these cards.

We found this book to be lots of fun and very imformative. We learned alot about Amelia Earhart. Great Book!
No references - hardly worthy of a non-fiction book.
I am simply not able to listen to this any longer. I find Amelia Earhart fascinating, but I will have to find another book. I honestly don't know how this narrator managed to be chosen to read anything. I suppose she is attempting to sound measured and sophisticated. What she actually sounds like is Jessica Rabbit. Between her sultry seductress voice and numerousmis-pronunciations, I am ready to throw my phone across the room.
We listened to this as an audio book. We found the content very interesting. However, the reader in the audio version mispronounces so many words that we found this a distraction (e.g., philatelist, Greenwich Time, Jai Alai). Don't get the audio version.

Wonderful follow up book to the first two. I love this series and am waiting for the next volume with baited breath. The mix of relationships, space opera and ground combat is very much to my liking although it may not be for everyone. The character list is long enough that if you are not following closely it is possible to loose some minor characters, but I enjoy the way the "minor" characters come back chapters or even a whole book later to become an important part of the story. It makes paying attention to the details important for the reader.
First of all, this is an incredible series that will captivate fans of science fiction and SciFi. There is also a lot of steamy sexuality, but only because the story premise demands it. (The lead character is an alien whose race uses the psychic energy of "thralls", meaning devoted lovers, and gives them gifts and enhancements in return.) This latest book is where the series arc really takes root and starts to answer the questions raised in previous chapters...you finally learn what race John (the protagonist) is and begin to see what direction the series is headed. An excellent read, with nail-biting cliffhangers and cheeky humor. If you haven't been hooked on the series by the end of this book, you're skimming the pages without reading it. Phenomenal!!!!!
Volume 3 of The John Blake Chronicles (originally titled "Three Square Meals" on Literotica) is where the epic story really begins to blossom. Taking a break from acquiring additional crew members, our stalwart spaceship hero and his team of four females fly into alien territory for new adventures and discoveries, while continuing to bond with each other, fight bad guys, and learn more about what has been happening to themselves as they grow more powerful. As usual, there is also a lot of highly explicit sex, some of it much more exotic than in previous chapters. Plus a good bunch of laugh-out-loud moments. Never for a moment have I regretted taking the time to read this ongoing saga. I'm totally besotted.
I follow this author of Literotica and I am also a Patreon contributor as well. This is a collection of the chapters previously published on Literotica, cleaned up, typos fixed, and the dialogue smoothed for consistency. The story started out as word porn with a SciFi stage but has evolved into a good harem Space Opera with a lot of graphic sex and violence. There is a lot of lesbianism, anal sex, harem sex, but no sword crossing. Totally ridiculous premise, but detach brain before reading and just go for the ride ignoring the pesky laws of physics.
I like the addition of more space based combat along with more small unit action. This series is a good kind of different. It's also strongly adult rated and explicit so be warned before reading. The introduction of John's species looks like it'll be very interesting for future books.
I loved this book from start to finish the author did a great job with the characters and the story. I love how the author has added to all the characters add more death and power to them . I can't wait to read book 4 and great job M Tefier.
It my be the future and in space, but its really a western. Good guy comes flying up in his space ship rescues the girls and kills all the bad guys. It's a great story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.
I enjoyed this book and was happy to begin to learn more about the MC background. It will be interesting to see what happens as the plot progresses.

Summer was looking for a come up and she found it with Greg punk a$$. Sade was so geeked she must have forgot she had sex with Guwop. Bo is supposed to ride for City no matter what. Giselle think she got Bo beat . Lucas is a mfer s#^t starter. I would like to think if City had a problem with Guwop he would he have a face to face not taking the word from a third party or a reordering. Bo should have told Dontrelle to kick rocks and her big sister is a messy mfer tattle tell with her hatin a$$. I would hate it if Lucas setup Guwop. Bo's mama and sister need to get some business of their own. Michael needs to turn Sandra over the the police that would hurt Rigs more than finding out him and Lucas are butt buddies. Impatiently waiting for part 3.
Okay, let me just say this part of the series took me to the level of popping an extra blood pressure pill because Lawd ham mercy this part had so much action I had to stop..... catch my breath and take notes!!! Giselle needs to move on, Greg been played with his community of sister wives, G about to be a baby daddy if he doesn't fall for the old okie dokie and poor City ya got more issues than I got back teeth!!! I need part three like NOW!!! This was so good I sped through this book in no time and definitely craved for MORE!!!
Greg finally got a taste of his own medicine all his cheating backfired in his face. Sade has to tell Guwop he is going to be a daddy. I hope Lucas plan backfires and Guwop doesn't fall for the setup knowing City wouldn't betray him. Bo needs to grow up she let Giselle play her costing her City. Hurry up part 3#

This book was great. I read it all in 1 sitting. I didn't want to do anything else. Everything flows well. There was not any grammar errors that I noticed. I can't wait to see what happens next. I can't believe No mom. I hope City finds out about the set ups. I'm happy for Sade. I bet Greg is sorry now. Read this you will not want to put it down. I can't wait for part 3
