You can read the whole book in 30 minutes It gives you a nice armature to start hanging further information on, I was using it to come up to speed on Australian culture while taking a class on WWI.
This book is admirably concise and to the point. It gives a quick impartial overview of Australia's history. It is a bit dry, probably a natural result of being brief and to the point, so I only gave it 4 stars.
